6 Places to Eat on Port Credit’s Waterfront

06/02/25

The Port Credit waterfront is one of the Greater Toronto Area’s most beautiful lakeside destinations. Located near the historic lighthouse on the Mississauga waterfront, the area features a boardwalk and trail, lakeside parks, and a variety of other attractions like the Ridgetown Freighter, a massive retired Great Lakes ship that sits at the mouth of the Port Credit River.

The area has now evolved into a premier neighbourhood for shopping, dining, and entertainment, with over 50 restaurants, cafés, and dessert spots along the main street.

For the next time you visit, here are six of our favourite lakeside restaurants and dessert spots.

  1. Shore Grill & Grotto

Shore Grill & Grotto is just off the waterfront and serves a combination of stone-fired pizzas, steaks, and signature seafood dishes. The restaurant runs regular events like nightly live music, special musician spotlights, and showings of the latest sports games.

  2. Snug Harbour Seafood Bar & Grill

At Snug Harbour Seafood Bar & Grill you’ll enjoy waterfront views while you indulge in a selection of fresh oysters, mussels, and other classic seafood dishes. This spot is a great place for a romantic night out by the water.

  3. Papa Giuseppe’s

This Mississauga icon serves artisan pizzas on fresh dough, cooked in a stone oven. The restaurant is just a five-minute walk from the water and is great for comfortable and delicious Italian dishes.

Papa Giusseppe’s Margherita Pizza with Prosciutto.

  4. Spice Lounge & Tapas

This tapas bar is an urban eatery that serves iconic Spanish dishes like Patatas Bravas (Spanish seasoned potatoes) and Albóndigas (Spanish meatballs). This is a great choice if you’re craving fresh European flavours by the water.

  5. Scoops Ice Cream

A stroll along the boardwalk is always better with a cone in your hand. Scoops Ice Cream serves a long list of homemade flavours like Birthday Party, Black Cherry, and Cappuccino Crisp. This is a great choice for a classic ice cream cone to accompany the waterfront views.

  6. Eva’s Original Chimneys

This iconic dessert shop specializes in Chimney Cakes, a Hungarian treat that is named after its hollow, cylindrical shape. Eva’s is also the home of the Chimney Cone, an upgraded ice cream cone served with flavours like Strawberry Cheesecake, Tiramisu, and even Matcha Kit Kat Crunch.

The Dream Cone from Eva’s Original Chimneys.
